Bulgaria has its representatives among the winners of this year’s European Social Innovation Competition. They are Sofia2Go – a digital platform that connects foodies with opportunities to find good food leftovers, which they can purchase at a great discount. The venture thus reconciles the pleasure of eating with sustainable living – in terms of budget and environmental transformation. In 2023, there are already more than 11,000 people on the platform.
Sofia2Go won the special EUSIC Impact Prize during the competition.
The three big winners of the tenth edition are ReLearn from Italy, who use artificial intelligence to help companies and municipalities reduce their environmental impact by monitoring the waste generated, Sostre Cívic from Spain, who successfully implement an alternative housing model, and Efficient Energy Technology from Austria, with their SolMatePro project, which provides energy storage in urban areas.
